Tall Bottom Rail with Exterior Rub Rail 

The tall bottom rail is a standout spec on this 4000D-X. Combined with an exterior rub rail, this setup adds structural strength and helps protect the trailer from the inevitable scrapes and impacts that come with life on the road. Whether it’s unexpected forklift contact or the strain of tight loading docks, this trailer is engineered to absorb the impact.

Dynamic Side Skirts (in Black) 

Standard on all our 2026 Utility 4000D-X Dry Vans are black Utility-brand dynamic side skirts, designed for aerodynamic efficiency and required in California. Not only do they help improve fuel economy, but the black finish also does a better job hiding road grime. Tucked under the skirt, you'll also find a mounted tire rack for added convenience. 

Premium Tire & Suspension Package

Every unit comes equipped with Michelin 22.5 Low Pro tires mounted on the Hendrickson Ultraa-K® suspension. Longer studs are spec’d in from the start, so if you want to upgrade to aluminum wheels later, you won’t need to swap out your studs, saving you both time and money down the road. We also opt for grease hubs over oil for longer life and lower maintenance needs. 

Tire Inflation/Deflation System

Texas summers can be brutal. That’s why we spec the TireMaxx Pro tire inflation system, which not only inflates underinflated tires but also deflates overinflated ones, a huge benefit when dealing with extreme temperature swings like we have here in North Texas. 

Rear-End Reinforcements and Safety 

The rear of the trailer features stainless steel swing doors and an extra taillight, offering three-lamp rear lighting for better visibility and safer stops. The anti-dock walk feature on the Hendrickson suspension helps keep the trailer safely locked to the dock during loading and unloading, reducing the chance of movement and potential accidents. 

Interior Build: Strength Where It Matters

Step inside, and the strength-focused spec’ing continues. Logistic posts are placed on: 

• 9-inch centers at the front 

• 16-inch centers through the landing gear and rear 

• 20-inch centers across the belly and suspension area 

This spacing reinforces the trailer exactly where it takes the most impact. Add to that the Rockland 2 floor with three screws per board per crossmember, and you get a robust 20,000 lb. forklift floor rating. A heavy-duty wear band at the tail protects your investment from repeated dock contact.
